Matariki

Long ago under the pitch black sky there was a village. No  one wanted to go out into the black lake because they were scared of the taniwha. Then it was the morning their was a great  warrior his name was Tamarereti. One morning he  woke up and he was starving so he decided to go  and catch some fish. When he went to go and catch some fish Tamarereti caught 3 fish. After that he went to sleep for a while. When he woke up he knew that it was getting dark but he was hungry.  So he cooked up the fish and ate it. He knew that he was not afraid or terrified so he found some pebbles and put it in his waka. He found some pebbles and picked it up because pebbles made the star and made the seven sisters’ so he threw the pebbles   into the wild  sky and went back to the village.The sky is now beautiful.

making paper plans

On monday after lunch students from room 14 made planes.  First of all we sat on the mat and watched a video it was about making planes and different kinds   we watched the video because some of the people in room  14 did not now how to make a plane so we watched the video

and learnt how to make a   plane.

After a while Miss Davis gave us a piece of paper when she gave us the paper we sat on the mat well some of them sat on a table and started to fold it when the whole classroom was finished we went

Outside by  our class room bay and flew our plane  and had a  competition.

Miss Davis said we are going to have a turn in our group’ first blue group went i felt so terrified for my friend Keyana because I thought she was going to lose’

I did not want her to lose because I wanted her to win. but she did not win she lost but I told her it's okay you will win next time’ mean while it went orange group I thought the hole orange group was going to win but it didnt happen the only one who won in the orange group was kelly.kelly made it to the second round. Next  it went green group they flew their plane and kitione one he was in the second round then it was turquoise group when they flew their planes every one was cheering go kiarah go kiara I new every one wanted kiarah to win when they flew their plans they were very sad for kiarah because she did not make leigharna did. Finally it was my turn and my group turn to go I knew I was going to lose when miss Davis said go I was so anxious then we flew our plane I looked at my plane my plane was so close to me and I knew I lost I was so sad but the winners had a second round it was out of 3 boys and 2 girls they flew their planes then it was out of 2 girls because the 3 boys lost. Luckily the 2 leigharna and kelly  flew their plans  everybody was cheering again kelly you won kelly you won so so happy. Now for the end when it was the end we went inside and watched p.e.n.n.

i was reading the  book called Matariki and another book called making lanterns the matariki book is about the seven sister stars and the lanterns one is and making lanterns.

Tamarereri

It was a very dark night no one went outside because the big scary taniwha. They were so scared that they did not want to go outside. So then Tamarereti went out and went to go to get some fish in the sea.

The taniwha comes out of the dark sea  and is looking for something to eat. The taniwha is so scary that people always stay inside their home and do not come out.

Tamarereti is looking for some fish because his family and the people of the village Needs something to eat because they have nothing to eat.

Tamarereti is catching  some fish for the village and his family to eat.he found 3 fishes to eat with the village and his family.

Tamarereti went to sleep in his waka because the wind went away.when he woke up he found himself in the middle of the beach.

Tamarereti found a place to stay for a little while then he knew that he should  go back to the village because the taniwha might catch him and eat him of the corner of his eyes he saw some pepells.

Tamarereti gathered all of the pepels  into his waka. Tamarereti had an idea to do with the pepels.Tamarereti got all of the pepels and threw it into the sky and saw the beautiful seven stars.

When he finished looking at the beautiful sky  he went back to the village.The pepels that Tamarereti throw up in the sky are now stars. The sky is now beautiful.

first day of swimming

when  we went to hop in the G.I pools I felt very excited to swim. First we had to go under the water for 10 seconds to wet our body.Then we grabbed a board and  stood on the wall to wait for the instructions.After that the instructor said when we swim we point our feet and  we put our feet together and kick fast. And when you do the streamline you have to put your head down and if you want to have some air you lift your head up but you do not stand up you just lift you head up. After we swam by our self then we went under the lane rope and sat on the  stairs under the water then the instructor said “you have to  kick your feet fast and you have to point you feet.”  Then  the instructor was testing us then she said  when you are finished kicking your feet go under the line and stand against the wall. And wait for the instructor to tell us what we have to do”.Finally  the other class came to swim but we had 1 more minute to swim then we  hopped out of the pool and got our towels and went back to class.  got changed into our school uniform and went out to play.
